Ladies’ 25th Anniversary Wyong Classic & Shield

Monday 19th March

This is a Jean Derrin Event. This year being the 25th anniversary we also have a lunch for the ladies. The cost for the ladies is $45 including a 2 course lunch.

Men’s President v Captain

Saturday 21st April

A Club event with a long tradition. Players are divided into two teams, a coloured ribbon indicating whether they are playing for the President or the Captain.

Men’s Foursomes

Saturday 12th May

Our annual alternate shot, team Championship where the motto is: “never apologise!” Defending champions are Craig Wickham and Ethan Forsyth.

Ladies’ Gala Day “in the Pink”

Thursday 31st May

This event raises funds for the Wyong Hospital Cancer Unit. We are always looking for sponsorship for this day. We ask for $100 for sponsoring a hole and all the funds raised on the day go to the Cancer unit.

Men’s Wyong Open Amateur

Saturday 8th September

A premier event on our calendar, the Wyong Open Amateur is a Vardon event that is keenly contested, attracting a high class field including many visitors with low handicaps. Kaine Andre from Moore Park, who shot 73, is the defending champion.

Men’s Senior Open

Tuesday 11th September

Part of the Central Coast Senior’s Week of Golf, this is a Golf NSW Senior Order of Merit event which is attracting an increasing following. The shotgun morning round is followed by a lunch in the auditorium. Steve Dashwood, who shot 74, is the defending champion.

Wyong Ladies Charity Day

Thursday 13th September

Again we raise funds for a local charity. We have been donating to all proceeds of the day to Rose Cottage Northern Womens Health Centre located in Wyong. Like the Gala Day we are always looking for some sponsorship.

Mixed Foursomes

Sunday 16th September

A 27 hole foursomes Championship event which offers the ultimate opportunity for a player to demonstrate courtesy and sportsmanship to his or her teammate. In 2017 the champions were Ethan Forsyth and Erica Bond.

Wyong Pro-Am

Wednesday 26th September

A flagship event on the Club’s calendar, which attracts professionals from far and wide including winners on tours around the globe. Always keenly supported by sponsors, members and aspiring golf professionals. Defending champions are Matt Millar and Robbie Hogan who both shot seven-under 64.

Men’s Club Championships

Saturday 6th, Sunday 7th, Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th October

The premier men’s event on the calendar, the Club Championships test players’ abilities in a stroke format over four rounds. In addition to the coveted cup presented to the Club Champion, other award-winners include B and C Grade Champions, Senior Champion and Junior Champion. Ethan Forsyth, whose score was 15 shots ahead of the runner-up, is the defending Club Champion.

Men’s Knockouts

Finals to be played by the end of October

Qualifying rounds for the Singles and Teams knockout competitions are held in March with the leading 32 competitors progressing to the knockouts. Bryce Goldsworthy is the defending Singles Knockout champion whilst Michael Williams and Grant Dowling are the defending Teams Knockout champions.

Men’s Gold Medal Day

Saturday 3rd November

Winners of the monthly medals throughout the year compete for the Gold Medal in their respective grades.

Christmas Cheer Days

Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th December

Our traditional Christmas Cheer Days provide the opportunity for players to win prizes to add to their festivities. A best-dressed prize ensures that you don’t even have to play well to win a Christmas cake.

Holden Scramble

Sunday 20th January 2019

Open to men and women, this event is in an Ambrose format with special Holden Scramble rules applying. The Holden Scramble, originally scheduled for 29 July 2018, has been deferred to 20 January 2019 so that it is closer to the regional finals in March 2019.
